Private family coordination should stay private.
This policy explains the information KinVite processes, why we use it, and the choices available to you.
Last updated: September 27, 2026
1. Information you provide
Depending on how you use KinVite, you may provide:
- account information such as your email address, display name, and sign-in identity;
- family membership and invitation information;
- names, birthdays, and profile details for family members or dependents you add;
- event details, locations, notes, RSVPs, and related planning information;
- gift ideas, registry links, claim or purchase coordination, and related notes;
- family chat messages;
- notification preferences and device identifiers used for notifications; and
- photos or other media if and when you choose to upload them through supported KinVite features.
2. How KinVite uses information
We use this information to:
- authenticate you and maintain your account;
- provide private family spaces and enforce family membership;
- sync events, RSVPs, birthdays, gifts, registries, and messages across supported devices;
- send notifications you enable;
- preserve gift-surprise privacy for linked recipients;
- protect KinVite against abuse, security incidents, and unauthorized access; and
- operate, troubleshoot, and improve the service.
3. Service providers
KinVite currently relies on third-party infrastructure and identity providers to operate. These may include:
- Supabase for authentication, database, realtime synchronization, and storage;
- Vercel for hosting and delivery of the KinVite website and web application;
- Apple and Google when you choose those providers for sign-in; and
- Apple Push Notification service when remote notifications are enabled in supported KinVite apps.
These providers process information according to their own terms and privacy practices while providing services to KinVite.
4. Family visibility and gift privacy
Most KinVite content is intended to be visible to members of the same private family space. KinVite uses backend access controls to scope family data by membership.
Gift claim and purchase coordination is intentionally separated from ordinary gift-item data so a linked recipient does not receive the claim or purchase status for their own surprise gift.
5. Payments
If you purchase the KinVite iOS app through Apple, Apple processes the App Store transaction. KinVite does not receive your full payment-card number from Apple.
6. Selling data, advertising, and tracking
KinVite is not built around advertising. We do not sell personal information to advertisers, and KinVite does not use family content to target third-party advertising.
7. Data retention
We retain account and family data for as long as reasonably necessary to provide KinVite, maintain the family space, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the service. Deleting an account may not automatically delete content that must remain associated with a surviving family space or content another member created.
8. Children and dependent profiles
KinVite allows an adult family member to create dependent profiles for purposes such as birthdays and gift planning. A dependent profile does not need to be a KinVite user account. KinVite should not be used to knowingly create an account for a child who is not eligible to consent to the applicable service terms without a parent or guardian.
9. Your choices
You may request access, correction, or deletion of certain personal information. See Privacy Choices and Delete Account.
10. Security
KinVite uses authenticated sessions, database row-level security, private storage controls, and platform security features to limit access. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as KinVite changes. The latest version will remain available at this URL with its effective date.
